6. Perseverance. The early mornings, late nights, and the work nobody sees are when the battles are won. It’s you vs you. Don’t be upset about the results you don’t get for the lack of effort you put in.
7. Mentality. Bite off more than you can chew. Figure it out later. If it doesn’t scare you, it’s not big enough.

7 Business Lessons nobody will tell you.

1. Freedom - I drive a 2018 Van. Not because I can’t afford a newer van, it’s because it’s impractical to buy a newer van. I tow a 1.3 tonne pizza oven. It will destroy the engine over time. It’s pointless strapping myself up to monthly payments/HP when the money can be invested elsewhere with a far better return. Choose wisely.
2.Think Big 🖼️ - The money saved on a “newer van” enables me to invest in more ovens. More ovens = scalability=return. Business is about business. Not having a nice and shiny van and no idea. Nobody remembers a van, everyone remembers the pizza.
3. Agility - By having 2 setups we are agile. We can adapt to any situation and cook pizza anywhere and for any group size. Others can’t.
4. Staff - I pay my staff member far higher than the notional average. This amortises over time, breeds loyalty and shows I’m invested in them from the offset. Average pay = average return.
5. Liquidity - Never run the business dry. Be alive/able to exploit any opportunity. Be prepared.
6. Say “Yes”. Saying “Yes” opens doors. Some of my biggest wins have come from saying “yes” as the door it opened would not have opened otherwise.
7. Defeat is not final. You learn more from losing than you ever do winning. The key is learning from such lessons. Don’t - fail. Do - succeed.
