As someone who tries to be strategic about everything, control what I can (which is often trying to control what I cannot), it’s too easy to get locked in.

As I sit here in a Sunday evening, having cigar on the back porch, I’m reminded what all the planning, stress, and thinking of the future is for.

It’s often times like this I pull out my phone and just scroll through my videos and pictures, and just pause and be thankful for all that I have.

Happy Sunday, let’s get it this week 💪

I’m training to run a 4-event race (1-mile, 10k, 5k, and a half marathon) in a few weeks for a 2-day event (4 races in 36 hours) @runflyingpig to raise awareness for Cincinnati Children’s CRP-Well program.

I started training back in January with the goal to run these, feel good, and be able to talk and converse as I tackle each race running, all while not letting my strength slip or muscle diminish (as I added miles).

I was blessed with snow storms, subzero temps, and many cold runs. A lot people would not run in January, or would find an excuse like:

- i’m tired
- it’s too cold to run
- can’t run in snow
- morning are cold and dark
- blah blah blah

Tomorrow will be a longer run, almost the full half on almost the same course. Glad I didn’t wait for “optimal” environments to train.

The sooner people stop searching for optimal, and start just DOING WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE, the sooner they realize they aren’t as fragile as they thought (or are told).

This one goes out to ally friends, family, and clients who are out here doing it. Proud of you all 💪

Shoutout to all the dads and moms out there doing what they can to stay strong and healthy despite 5 hours of broken sleep, balancing work/family/life stress and goals, and just keeping other humans who depend on you fully… ALIVE.

From late night workouts after little ones go down, to starting your training week on Sundays to get a jump start on the week, or to mastering the art of productive 20min workouts… respect.

To move the needle sometimes you just need to stay moving.

One of the lowest-hanging fruit for anyone trying to FUEL a stronger, healthier life?

Getting enough protein.

I can’t count how many times a client tells me protein is a priority…then I pull up their nutrition logs and they’re hitting 50-75% of what they actually need.

As someone who trains hard, I get it. Eating enough protein is genuinely difficult, even when you’re aiming for around 1g per pound. That’s true regardless of age or experience level.
I prioritize lean sources (meat, dairy)but let’s be real: that’s not always realistic with a busy lifestyle.

That’s where supplements from a clean, trustworthy source come in. It’s why I partnered with @transparentlabs .

They’re committed to the highest quality and transparency in everything they make.

I use their ready-to-drink protein shakes, protein powders, and bars to make sure I’m hitting my numbers and supporting my recovery and performance.
