Love Needs No Words is out in the world now!

I’ve been pouring my heart and soul into this book over the last 18 months, just like I do on her each day.

I tell the story of me Jude and Tommy over the last 18 years, fatherhood, co-parenting, and the life of a carer.

The response so far from you all has been amazing, and I can’t wait to see what you think once you get to read it.

Thank you for all the support you show us ❤️

It’s the release week for my book, and with this scene playing such an important part within it, it feels only right that I share it with you again. It was a turning point for me, one of the first times I truly realised that communication is so much more than just speech.

I know so many of you who follow us have found us through this moment. Life has changed so much since I recorded this, and last year my dad passed away. I’m gutted he’ll never get to read what I wrote. But I’ll always have this memory of Jude and my dad together, of the connection they had 🥹

Jude is autistic and non-speaking. His communciation skills have always been limited, I’ve spent many years wishing I knew what was going on inside his mind.

This clip is from about 10 years ago now when Jude was enjoying the paddling pool at my parent’s house. My dad was adding more and more warm water so that Jude didn’t get cold.

Jude spontaneously stands up and gives him a kiss, a showing of affection that was incredibly rare.

Jude might be non-speaking, but in that moment it was very clear what he wanted to say. Thank you. Teaching us a great lesson.

Love needs no words ❤️

After 18 months of waiting it’s finally go time… my book is out this week 😱

It’s going to be a nerve racking and exciting week, and I can’t wait for you to read our story.

I hope it helps families feel less alone. I hope it gives people an insight into what life is like for families like ours, and I hope it help makes people be a little more understanding.

If you’ve loved our content over the years, it would mean the world to me if you get our book this week. It helps make bookshops take notice and choose to stock the book, and there’s a real chance we might make the charts too 🤞

Thanks for all the love and support you’ve shown us over the years, that’s what’s made this book possible ❤️

Some days I’m full of hope, others I’m petrified of what the future holds…

Both of my boys will need lifelong support, that’s a reality. And when you know one day you won’t be able to look after them, it’s a scary thought.

Jude will finish school in just over a year, and in the next few months we’ll begin to look at what options are available for him.

I don’t have all the answers, but I never have. We’ve figured it out along the way, made mistakes and learned from them. I have to believe that will happen as we move into adulthood too.

I just want them both to be happy. Well supported, and gave something to look forward to each day.

Anyone else feel the same? All advice and positive experiences welcome 🫶
