✨ International Day of Disabled People ✨
Today we’re celebrating the journey of our Senior Dance Artist, Hannah Sampson!

Hannah has been with Stopgap for 15+ years - starting in our youth company, becoming an apprentice, and growing into the artist she is today. She’s danced around the world, performed at the Royal Albert Hall for the King, and has just returned from an exciting collaboration in Japan. 🌍💃

At Stopgap, we champion long-term support and growth - starting in our community groups and continuing throughout an artist’s career.

This week we’re part of the @biggiveorg’s match-funding #ChristmasChallenge. If you’re able to, please donate via the bio link, to help Disabled young people access joyful, supportive and life-changing dance opportunities. ❤️

“It’s not just you and me. It’s myself, the chair and you. A trio, not a traditional duet.”

In our latest blog, dancer Emily Lue-Fong reflects on her journey of rethinking traditional partnering dynamics, how true connection emerges from trust, communication, and the creative negotiations that happen between dancers as they learn to move — and listen — together.

[Video description: A duet from Lived Fiction between a Cambodian, male wheelchair dancer and an East Asian non-disabled female dancer. They dance in orange moody lights in a dark space. They move in waves.
