❤️ Meet Perri.

60 years old. 30 years of yo-yo dieting.

Slimming World, Weight Watchers…she tried every franchise.

They worked temporarily. She’d lose weight, gain it back. Repeat for three decades.

By 60, with young grandchildren she wanted to keep up with, she knew something had to change.

Here’s what I learned from Perri:

She’d spent THOUSANDS on diets, but not one addressed WHY she was eating.

She grew up being forced to clear her plate. Her mum once made her eat dinner for breakfast the next day because she didn’t finish it.

At 60 years old, she’d NEVER given herself permission to stop eating when full.

Inside The ONE Academy, Perri learned:

→ It’s okay to leave food on your plate
→ It’s okay to say “no” to food she doesn’t actually want
→ It’s okay to trust her body’s signals

24 weeks later, she broke a 30-year cycle.

Her words: “I’ve spent thousands of pounds on diets over the years. This was the best investment I ever made.”

This wasn’t another diet.
This was learning to trust herself around food for the first time in 6 decades.

If Perri can break a 30-year pattern at 60, what’s possible for you?

DM me “TRANSFORM” if you’re ready to stop yo-yoing.

🍞 If you have PCOS and you’re constantly craving carbs, it’s not a willpower problem.

A large percentage of women with PCOS have insulin resistance, meaning their body often needs to release more insulin than normal, especially after higher-GI or refined carb meals.

Here’s what can happen:

1️⃣ You eat higher-GI carbs
2️⃣ Blood sugar rises more quickly
3️⃣ Because of insulin resistance, the body releases excess insulin to bring it down
4️⃣ Blood sugar can drop rapidly (or feel like it does)
5️⃣ The brain interprets this as danger: “MORE CARBS. NOW.”
6️⃣ The cycle repeats

You’re not lacking discipline.
This is a physiological response, not a motivation issue.

The solution isn’t cutting carbs it’s slowing the response:

✅ Choose lower-GI carb options (where possible):
	•	Sweet potato instead of white potato
	•	Quinoa or brown rice instead of white rice
	•	Oats instead of refined cereal
	•	Sourdough instead of standard white bread

✅ Always pair carbs with protein + fat:
	•	Sweet potato + chicken + olive oil
	•	Oats + protein powder + almond butter
	•	Brown rice + salmon + avocado

✅ Timing can help too:
	•	Around training (better insulin sensitivity)
	•	Earlier in the day for some people

These strategies reduce glucose spikes, lower insulin demand, and help prevent the crash-craving cycle.

A large proportion of my clients have PCOS and this pattern is very real.

Because it’s not just carbs that spike insulin, but handling carbs better can REALLY help ❤️

🥳 She did amazing - discipline absolutely got her there, and that’s worth celebrating.

But if you’ve tried discipline and it hasn’t stuck for you?

You’re not broken. You just might be dealing with something different.

For a lot of women, emotional eating isn’t a discipline problem. It’s a coping mechanism. And you can’t willpower your way out of using your only tool for stress.

So here’s what actually helps:

1. Identify the actual need
Stop at the fridge and ask: “What do I actually need right now?” Stressed? Exhausted? Bored? Overwhelmed? Once you know, you can address it properly.

2. Build a toolbox of alternatives
Not replacements - alternatives. Stressed? Walk, journal, call someone. Exhausted? Go to bed. Bored? Do something engaging. Overwhelmed? Ask for help.

3. Stop restricting during the day
If you’re undereating, your body will compensate at night. That’s biology, not emotional eating. Eat enough. Include protein.

Discipline works for some people. But if it hasn’t worked for you, you don’t need more willpower. You need different tools.

Thats what we fix inside The ONE Academy.

My inbox is open if you’re ready to build that toolbox.

Just message me “my time” for more info.

😴 Sleep is the most underrated free supplement for fat loss.

Better sleep = better hunger control, fewer cravings, better decisions around food and movement.

I’ve been working on sleep with clients recently: cutting caffeine after 2pm, swapping scrolling for reading before bed (I know, revolutionary stuff), managing stress, consistent wake times.

The results? They’re losing weight faster without changing anything else.

Turns out lying in bed scrolling TikTok at midnight doesn’t count as “winding down.” Who knew?

If you want to lose more weight this week, start with your sleep hygiene. It’s not sexy. But it works.

And keep your eyes for something epic Black Friday - it’s for action takers, women ready to make a change and I can’t wait to share ❤️
