Time sure does fly and cherished time away together as a family is something I will never take for granted.
Takeaways from our trip;
Only a four hour flight, Tenerife is the perfect destination for late Autumn sunshine. (27 degrees with occasional light cloud.)
We stayed outside of the main towns, our hotel was nestled in the cliffs to the south of the island, with its own secluded beach and sun loungers for hotel guests. I wouldn’t recommend staying in the main town as it’s super busy and touristy.
If you can, take a boat trip. We booked ours with @tenerifesailingcharters and our captain, Guy, was the best. He was extremely knowledgable about the island and knew exactly where to find the whales. He also knew the best spots for snorkelling. 🐠
Our hotel had five different restaurants, including a Japanese. We didn’t have a bad meal, In fact the food was exceptional.
We stayed in two interconnecting retreat rooms allowing access to a villa pool as well as the retreat infinity pool and dining area with seperate breakfast. You also had access to inclusive food and drink throughout the day. If you stay in a suit you also get your own golf buggy.
The train down to the beach was a highlight for the kids, running back and forth every half an hour throughout the day.
Kids club was brilliant with friendly, welcoming staff who spoke perfect English. It was open until 10pm, so if we had wanted we could have left the kids for a child free dinner. Joseph made so many friends.
Make sure to book your restaurants and spa treatments in advance to ensure you get good times and don’t eat in the same restaurant consecutively. I arranged everything with the hotel a few weeks before we arrived.
The rooms are typically European, so not to the standard of somewhere like Dubai, but extremely comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Fluffy towels, luxurious bedding and Diptyque toiletries. What more do you need?
My only complaint, we were always left fighting over the dressing gowns. They only ever left two between the five of us.🤪
