⭐️ I should have posted a text Tuesday today but as my friend described - it’s a time out Tuesday instead 😅 I’ve been reflecting lots recently particularly over the Easter break and felt compelled to share in case it helps someone else 😊. This period as a year 6 teacher (in fact any) can be so emotionally turbulent and strange. You want to do your best to ensure the children get their best, but sometimes it’s at the expensive of other things: your peace and your time. I’ve found myself going back to the why. Why I chose to teach, why I teach in the school that I do, and ultimately why I needed to shift my perspective off the data and back onto the things that mattered the most: enjoying teaching; nurturing our children and championing them to be the best they can be 🥰. So here I am Sending lots of love and encouragement to anyone feeling a little wobbly. You’ve got this 🙏🏾
⭐️Monday Motivation: where to begin ⭐️ Holding the role of English lead can feel daunting- especially with the amount of strands within the curriculum 😆. Whenever I have a stumbling block moment, I go back to the purpose of the subject: what do we want our readers and writers to be able to do by the end of their journey? What will they need to be able to know or do at each stage to get them on that trajectory? If you’re new to the role or even doing it for years, sometimes you just need someone to sound board with.
