In an exclusive interview with Ayman Mohyeldin on MS NOW, Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi says his country’s armed forces will attack US-linked energy infrastructure in the region in retaliation for attacks on Iran’s oil and energy assets.

His comments came a day after the US said it struck military targets on Kharg Island, from which the majority of Iran’s oil exports flow, with Trump threatening to hit the island’s oil infrastructure.

When asked about negotiations with the US in the days leading up to the war, Araghchi said Iran signalled to the US that it was willing to make “really big” concessions on nuclear enrichment.

“They want to justify an unjustifiable act of aggression. So they are trying to make some excuses for themselves. I never said that we are going to make bombs.”

Carlson argued that the voters who helped elect Trump expected a break from past US policy, including what he described as handing operational authority to Benjamin Netanyahu, saying many now believe the US relationship with Israel is “hurting us gravely” and “getting Americans killed”.

He added that Trump voters are turning against Israel as frustration grows over Washington’s continued alignment with the Israeli government's controversial policies.
