I recently had the honour of speaking on WEEKEND BY MONDE Photography Now panel alongside other renowned photographers working in Analogue. we discussed our individual practices and where we think photography is heading as the industry shifts, shaping what images can be today. I was asked to speak on my transition from ten years in the fashion industry to working in wildlife, a shift that’s been emotional, challenging, yet full of growth.

It hasn’t been an easy path, but it’s the work that feels the most true to me. I’m grateful for the chance to speak openly about the journey, and for everyone who continues to connect with the images and the story behind them. Excited to keep refining, keep pushing meaningful and intentional projects, and see where this leads.

Feeling so grateful to have spent 10 days at the Casa Lolla residency in Borgo Valsugana, Italy 🇮🇹. To be chosen to share this experience alongside 9 other amazing artists and creatives was truly special, the exchange of ideas, practices, and philosophies left me feeling deeply inspired.

Surrounded by a backdrop of stunning mountains and valleys, it was the kind of place where inspiration comes easily.

Each of us had the chance to host a workshop, and for me it was my very first time leading one. Part one was a talk where I shared my journey into wildlife photography and showed some of my first darkroom prints. Working with analogue film in nature means surrendering control, you never know what will appear, and it requires patience and presence. I invited the group to reflect on this philosophy, to consider how letting go of control and drawing inspiration from nature might open new pathways within their own practices.

I feel so blessed to have had this chance to share and exchange in such a setting, and I’m excited to share part two of my workshop in the next post, where we put this philosophy into practice ✨

The long road to Shukka and Soil 📐

Having my own exhibition has always been a dream, and to finally see it come to life was incredible. It took months of work, from long hours printing in the darkroom to finally getting frames made. There were so many trials: getting the book right, reworking the gift cards, and struggling to secure the venue. Self-funding everything made me even more grateful for the friends who gave their time and energy so freely.

Just before the opening I faced the worst setback possible, my hand injury. NOT ideal 😤 Without the people who stepped in to help curate and hang the work, I don’t know what I would have done.

Cutting off my locks after 10+ years was also part of this new beginning. I knew this was the right moment, and I’m thankful to the friends from my salon days who I trusted to share that milestone with me.

And the turnout. It blew past every expectation. Cant wait for the next one !

My first photographic journal 📕 a big milestone after years of photography.

When I created the Shuka & Soil photobook, I wanted it to feel like stepping into the full exhibition, the images, the experiences, the atmosphere, all captured and bound together in one place.

I had no idea how it would be received, and to my surprise it completely sold out by the start of day 2 of the exhibition itself. Completely beyond anything I imagined. I’ve since made more copies, and they’re already close to selling out too.

This photography book continues to open doors for me in ways I couldn’t have predicted, sparking new conversations, new opportunities, and new connections long after the exhibition has ended.

Feeling so grateful for everyone who has supported it and carried a piece of Shuka & Soil home with them.
