I saw on their stories last night that they'd made pea fritters, rissoles and fishcakes so I showed my husband and said we needed to pay them a visit ASAP. 

Today, my husband (and fellow food perv) surprised me by taking the day off work to drive the 25 mile journey to buy me chips.

There was so much to choose from but we settled on Dirty Chips (Chilli con carne, cheese, spring onion, chillies and burger sauce), homemade fish cake, pea fritters and chips, we also got to try the stunning homemade rissoles too.

We were seriously impressed even though I totally fell for their Arnie Sarnie April Fools post and was a tiny bit sad that I couldn't actually get one! 

It was definitely worth the drive, we cant wait to go back!

I was kindly asked by the guys at Sinclair Volkswagen Bridgend to test drive the new VW T-Roc and yesterday I spent some time with the T-Roc Style.

Firstly, the colour gives the car personality without detracting from what is a very well designed SUV. The front end LED light strip and sharp detailing makes it feel current and the yellow makes the design touches pop.

Inside, the 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro, paired with a 12.9-inch infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, built-in navigation, voice control, and online services means you’re not relying on your phone to fill in any gaps. 

The Style features LED Plus headlights with automatic control and dynamic range adjustment, 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone Climatronic climate control, ambient interior lighting and sport comfort seats, front and rear parking sensors, driver assistance systems and adaptive safety tech, heated electrically adjustable and folding mirrors, rain sensors and privacy glass. Everything I'd actually want is there.

Under the bonnet, you have the 1.5 eTSI mild-hybrid engine paired with the 7-speed DSG. Performance sits in the 0-62 mph in around 9-10 seconds range. I was impressed was with the driving profile selection, especially Sport mode. In normal driving, it’s smooth and easy going, quiet engine, early gear changes, very relaxed, with Sport mode you notice a few subtle but worthwhile changes-the DSG holds gears longer and shifts more aggressively, throttle response sharpens noticeably and steering gains a bit more weight. The car feels alert, responsive and more engaging when you want it. 

On the road, the ride is composed and stable, it feels planted at speed, it’s easy to drive on narrower roads and the elevated driving position gives you SUV confidence without the bulk. At 4.3m long, it’s still very manageable in everyday situations. Practicality is strong, the cabin is spacious and the boot is more than enough.

Overall, the T-Roc Style works because it blends personality with style and performance.
It looks distinctive, it’s well-equipped and it drives in a way that’s easy most of the time but can feel a bit sharper when you want it to.
