NATURE AIN’T A LUXURY… it’s a necessity. 

Finally get to recap of one of the most special moments of my career so far; my exhibition @natureaintaluxury where we took over the @barbicancentre Conservatory by not just one but across two weekends due to popular demand. 

4 whole days of nature SOLD OUT months in advance, which just tells me how much people need & want reconnect to nature. 

Capturing each environment at its most vibrant, I brought my field recordings from 3 indigenously stewarded rainforests to the Barbican Conservatory, inviting audiences to reconnect with nature while placing a vivid sense of life in the heart of London’s “concrete jungle.”

The exhibition reimagines the Conservatory through sound. The work challenges colonial histories, reawakens our connection to the natural world, and encourages a deeper reflection on how humanity can rebuild its relationship with nature & beckons us back to our fluency.

People’s experiences were so profound we want to take to all around the world, to all cities with botanical gardens, with over 55% of us living in cities away from nature, & a 60% decline in nature connectedness we are in urgent need to reconnect.

That’s a lot of deer. What’s mad is I didn’t even notice until I was this close. Kinda amazing locking eyes with a wild animal and them looking right back in the exact same way like “wagwan then?” 

Funnily enough though we really have too many deer here in the UK. a paper just came out last year that said bringing back wolves to Scotland would sequester over 1M tonnes of Co2. Only 167 wolves would bring deer density down enough it would equal 5% of the UKs carbon removal target from from forest regeneration. Each individual wolf would be sequester about 60,080 tonnes of carbon per year. I don’t believe in putting capital to nature but for those that do each wolf is worth £154K if you want to put a price on it.

Nature isn’t just the question, it’s the answer too.
