Last month I had the pleasure of sitting on a panel as a NatWest customer, sharing my perspective on how complaints should be handled from a customer point of view.

Speaking to the NatWest business customer complaints team felt especially meaningful, as it tied directly into my own business and how we choose to listen, learn and respond when things don鈥檛 go to plan.

Anyone who鈥檚 dealt with complaints knows they鈥檙e not always easy to hear, especially as a small business owner, but it鈥檚 how we navigate those moments that truly matters. Rebuilding confidence with a customer isn鈥檛 always about throwing money at a problem; sometimes it鈥檚 about being given the opportunity to put things right and redeem yourself.

Having been in sales from a young age, a lot of my training has stayed with me: body language, tone, eye contact and genuine listening all play a huge role. That said, not every battle can be won and that鈥檚 okay. What is crucial is recognising where you鈥檝e gone wrong, owning it, and letting your passion for customer service lead the rest.
