I watched the Louis Theroux documentary and it genuinely made me stop and think.

Not because I agreed with any of it… but because I could suddenly understand how people end up there.

You won’t know this about me, but when I was younger I used to fill out up to 100 online surveys a day and test random products just to try and make some money. I thought money was everything. I thought if I could just make enough of it, life would finally make sense.

So I completely understand how the manosphere pulls young lads in.

It preys on lads who feel lost.
Lads from broken homes.
Lads who are angry at life but don’t quite know why.

I was probably the perfect victim for it.

Deep down, a lot of these lads aren’t evil or hateful… they’re hurting. They’re lashing out at their own thoughts and really crying out for a role model.

I grew up without a father figure, and the wounds that leaves take years to understand.

It’s taken me a long time to figure out what a real man actually is and to be honest, I’m not sure any of us ever fully do.

But for me it’s simple.

If I’m making my mum proud every day, I’m probably on the right path.

She’s my superhero.

And if she’s smiling at the man I’ve become, then we’re doing alright.

Real men earn respect.
They don’t beg for validation.
