The silhouette shifted on the SS26 runways.

In my latest Runway to Real Life column on The Editora, Making Room, I explore the season’s expansive shapes — fabric that falls, folds, hangs and drapes, creating space around the body.

Across the collections, clothes moved differently — accommodating the body rather than containing it.

It’s always satisfying when a theme emerging on the runway aligns with the way you’ve been dressing instinctively.

Something I realised about jeans while getting dressed today.

For years I’ve defaulted to high-rise denim because we’re told it’s universally flattering. But I’m starting to think mid-rise actually works better for my proportions.

High-rise tends to sit right across the widest part of my stomach, whereas mid-rise sits slightly lower and the whole silhouette suddenly feels easier.

It’s a small shift, but it changes everything about how the outfit falls.

A reminder that flattering is rarely universal - it’s about where clothes sit on your own body.
Something interesting is happening on the runway right now - familiar pieces are returning, but with new energy.

Bomber jackets, fluid trousers, silhouettes that move and drape.

The kind of fashion that finally feels like it belongs in real life again.

More on this in tomorrow’s column ✍️

I’m becoming more selective about the trends I allow into my wardrobe — for many reasons. Anything that makes the cut has to earn its place.

For me, that’s been the balloon-leg trouser.

Softer than a barrel-leg. More forgiving. In satin or crepe, they drape rather than cling — they hang, they move.

They aren’t the easiest silhouette on my shape. Proportion matters. Footwear is decisive.

But they offer something I particularly value right now: elasticated waist, fluid fabric, real-life wearability. A little grace, without losing direction.

Directional — but sensual.
Comfortable enough to actually live in.

More fashion.
More rhythm.
Less algorithm.
