If your child has a foreign object in their mouth, here’s what to do:

➡️Stay calm and reassure your child
➡️Gently ask your child to open their mouth
➡️ Get below the level of child
➡️ Tilt their head downward slightly - never up!
➡️If they can cooperate, carefully remove the object with your fingers by sweeping it out
➡️Never blindly sweep your finger in the mouth if you cannot see the object clearly (can push it deeper)
➡️You may need to gently but firmly hold their head still
➡️For young children, you can try gently pressing on the cheeks near the back jaw joints, which may cause the mouth to open slightly

Reminder that if you donate breast milk through the #MilkDonationChallenge #ad, you can receive a $250 gift card — and there’s no minimum donation amount required. 🤍

A lot of moms have milk stored away and don’t realize even a small donation can help support medically fragile babies who truly need donor milk.

All you need is proof of donation to qualify.

Moms helping moms will always be one of my favorite things on the internet 🫶

An 02 sat reading means nothing unless the waveform is perfect. I always recommend an 02 sat that includes a waveform!

Fast breathing while asleep is more concerning than fast breathing while crying.

If a baby under 3 months has a fever of 100.4 F or higher, they need medical evaluation before they get fever meds.

If your child throws up medicine within about 5–10 minutes of swallowing it, we often consider re-dosing (but check with your ped)

All liquid Tylenol dosing is the same but Motrin/ibuprofen is different for infants vs Children’s versions.

Most meds can be crushed and put into applesauce etc! ask your ped if they have
trouble with liquid.

Call poison control BEFORE you call your ped if they swallow something they shouldn’t.

 Popsicles count as hydration.
