My new YouTube video is live now and this moment is why it means so much 🤍

POV: you had to leave your dream career as a teacher when you became disabled… but today you were back in the staff room, smiling at the laughter and quietly enjoying the gossip like a part of you never left.

I was invited back into the classroom, and for a little while I got to feel what it was like to be a teacher again. It meant more to me than I can put into words.

You can watch the full story through the link in my bio.

Also @Alex Warren I already love this song!!

Keywords: disabled teacher story, leaving teaching due to disability, invited back into the classroom, life after becoming disabled, emotional teacher journey, what it feels like to leave teaching because of disability, being invited back to teach after becoming disabled, feeling like a teacher again, staff room memories after leaving teaching, chronic illness and career change, disability awareness, teacher life UK, comedy
Just to clarify something again with you all… I left teaching because I physically couldn’t do it anymore-it takes it out of you even without a disability. Anyone who’s a teacher would understand just how demanding the job is physically and mentally. It’s not just the teaching, it’s everything that comes with the job and add my disabilities into the mix- it’s chaos!

Just to get to the local school for 9am the other morning, I had to get up at 5am. And even then I was almost late! It’s taken me 2 days to recover from 1 day (let alone the preparation I did prior) it was definitely worth it all though as I really enjoyed working with the pupils on a topic that is important to me, but not something that is sustainable.

Hope this makes sense to you all (I touched on it in yesterday‘s video, but will go more detail into all of this in tomorrow’s )

It does mean a lot that’s so many of you want what’s best for me and I completely understand that none of you mean any harm 🩷🩷🩷

Love Amy x

I had to wake up at 5am… just to be ready to leave the house by 8:30am 💛

GRWM for one of the most special days in my Beyond Limit series.

A local primary school invited me in to support their Time to Talk Day - the nation’s biggest mental health conversation.
Before I became disabled, I was a teacher… and I loved every single moment of it. So when they asked, there was only ever going to be one answer: yes.

Being disabled means everything takes me longer, and there are parts of my routine I simply can’t skip - like my bowel program. Getting ready isn’t simple, but showing up for something that truly matters always is.

By the time I rolled out the door, this day already meant so much.
Because today was about listening, sharing, and reminding young people that talking about how they feel matters.

Some things change.
But purpose doesn’t ✨
